Are Machine Learning and Data Science the same?

Machine Learning and Data Science are two different domains of technology that solve two different business problems. Data science uses data to help businesses understand and analyze industry trends, customer behavior, and similar types of challenges. Machine learning enables machines to teach themselves how to accomplish a specific task. Data scientists use programming languages like R, Python and Java to clean and analyze data before it is used to create Machine Learning algorithms.
